11 Indians going to America rescued in Nepal, Rs 45 lakh each given to gang
Nepal Police recently rescued 11 US-bound Indians who were held hostage by a gang in Kathmandu.
Police raided a house in the Ratopul area where the hostages were kept for about a month. The gang had taken huge sums of money from each person by promising to help them reach America.
However, he was brought to Nepal instead.
Police have arrested seven people involved in human trafficking. Each person had paid around 45 lakh Indian rupees to the smugglers.
According to reports, “It was found that each individual had paid 4.5 million Indian rupees to the racketeers, who had promised to smuggle them to the US.”
The smugglers had planned to send the victims to America via Nepal.
According to officials, most of the hostages were from Delhi and Haryana.
The Kathmandu Range of Nepal Police will hold a press conference on Thursday to give more details about the incident.
