AIMIM has identified 6 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra to contest: Imtiaz Jaleel
Before Lok Sabha elections 2024 All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Leader Imtiaz Jaleel on Monday said the party has identified candidates to field on six Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, PTI reported.
However, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) MP and party state unit chief Imtiaz Jaleel did not give details of these six seats, according to PTI.
Imtiaz Jaleel also said that in a day or two it will become clear from where he will contest the upcoming elections.
Earlier, Jaleel had asked the party to nominate him from a Mumbai seat and claimed that the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar seat is a safe bet for the Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM.
Meanwhile, wrestler Chandrahar Patil on Monday joined the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, PTI reported.
According to PTI, wrestler Chandrahar Patil is likely to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Sangli in the western part of Maharashtra.
According to PTI, Chandrahar Patil, who has won the state’s top wrestling competition ‘Maharashtra Kesari’ twice, joined the organization in the presence of Thackeray and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut.
Amid slogans by the crowd to send Patil to Delhi, Thackeray said, “Chandrahar had asked me to give some hint. I think you people have already taken the decision, so no one can change it now.”
He said, “We need to send a powerful leader from Sangli to Parliament, holding a blunt mace in one hand and a burning torch (the election symbol of Thackeray’s party) in the other.
