Massive protests erupted in Tel Aviv, Israel, following the announcement of the deaths of four hostages in Gaza on June 3. Hundreds of people protested outside the Israeli Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv and demanded the return of the remaining hostages. Meanwhile, the Israeli government said on June 4 that it believed more than a third of the remaining Gaza hostages were dead. According to Reuters, Israel said 120 people were still hostages, 43 of whom have been declared dead in absentia by Israeli authorities based on various sources of information, including intelligence reports, CCTV or bystander videos, and forensic analysis.
