Arvind Kejriwal will remain the Chief Minister of Delhi: AAP leader Sandeep Pathak

AAP leader Sandeep Pathak said this on Wednesday Arvind KejriwalArrested by the Enforcement Directorate last month, he is the Chief Minister of Delhi and will continue in the post, he has ruled out the possibility of resigning.

He alleged that part of the BJP’s conspiracy was that they would first arrest Kejriwal and say he should resign and then try to break AAP.

Speaking to reporters in Amritsar after holding a meeting with party volunteers, Pathak said, “Kejriwal is the CM and will remain the CM, and if needed, he will run the government from inside the jail.”

Responding to another question, Pathak, who is the national general secretary (organisation) of AAP, said that the people of Punjab and the country are emotional, they do not like that a big person dominates another person and commits excesses.

Kejriwal was arrested by ED on March 21 in a money laundering case related to excise policy.

AAP’s Punjab affairs co-assistant said, “After Kejriwal’s arrest, (AAP’s) vote share increased by 10-15 per cent in Delhi. The BJP must be doing surveys, they must be seeing this. Sometimes, extreme Cleverness is harmful.” The in-charge said while targeting the ruling BJP at the Centre.

He said, “As far as the question of how the party will run if Kejriwal is in jail, I want to say that the party will continue to run the same way as it was running before.”

On AAP leaders like Kejriwal, Sanjay Singh and Manish Sisodia going to jail, he said that if honest people are put in jail then who will come into politics. But everyone has faith in the judiciary, he said.

But Sanjay Singh has got bail from the Supreme Court in the Delhi Excise Policy case.He said, “Everyone is happy that he (Sanjay Singh) has got bail.”

Asked if there could be a rethink on India Bloc’s partners Congress and AAP contesting the Lok Sabha elections separately in Punjab, Pathak said it has already been decided and candidates have been announced accordingly.

“The information I have is that Congress and AAP are fighting separately in Punjab,” he said.

On AAP leader Raghav Chadha, he said that he (Chaddha) had retina operation (in UK). “He is recovering and will return soon,” Pathak said.

Responding to another question, he targeted the BJP and said, “What is their aim? It is not to catch any crime. They want to send behind the bars the people who are running the party (AAP) so that the party breaks.” .”

Asked why AAP leaders were being targeted, Pathak said that in many other states where rival parties of the BJP were ruling, they have done so.

He claimed, they (BJP) have reached this far in Delhi because they are more afraid of Arvind Kejriwal.

He also said that the ED had earlier registered cases against about 26 to 30 leaders, of whom about 24 later joined the BJP and once they did so, the cases went on hold. He said, “It’s a joke.” He said that the public is with him.

“The main strength of AAP is the love of the people and our volunteers,” he said.

On AAP’s lone Lok Sabha member Sushil Kumar Rinku joining the BJP along with Punjab MLA Sheetal Angural, Pathak said, one or two people have left… I don’t want to say anything on this, people will answer them.
