Leonid Volkov, a close aide of former Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, was attacked outside his home in Vilnius, Lithuania. Navalny’s spokeswoman Kira Yarmysh said in a post on ‘X’ that “someone broke the car window and sprayed tear gas in his eyes, after which the attacker started hitting Leonid with a hammer.” Volkov is one of Russia’s most prominent opposition figures and was Navalny’s former chief of staff and until recently chairman of his anti-corruption foundation.
