BJP wants more than 400 seats to change the Constitution: Uddhav Thackeray

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray It was claimed on Tuesday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants to win more than 400 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024 to change the Constitution, after which there will be no elections in the country, PTI reported.

According to PTI, Uddhav Thackeray said that people should be aware of the danger they are facing.

He was speaking at a rally in Ralegaon in eastern Maharashtra’s Yavatmal district.

“They are talking about winning more than 400 Lok Sabha seats (in the upcoming elections). They do not want more than 400 seats for the development of the country. They want to change the Constitution of the country. The Constitution given by Babasaheb Ambedkar on which I took oath as Chief Minister, Modi took oath as Prime Minister, they want to change it,” Uddhav Thackeray alleged, according to PTI.

He claimed that BJP leader Ananth Kumar (Hegde) had talked about plans to change the Constitution if his party wins 400 seats.

Once the Constitution is changed, “they will take all the powers into their hands, in such a way that there will be no elections again in the country,” the former BJP aide said.

He also mentioned the suicide of farmers in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Visiting Yavatmal before every Lok Sabha election and claiming that Yavatmal is lucky for him, Thackeray said, “Keep it in your mind that your destiny is not in Modi’s hands, but Modi’s destiny is in your hands. Their slogan is ‘Abki baar BJP 400 paar’ (This time BJP will cross 400), but I want to give another slogan, ‘Abki baar BJP tadipaar’ (This time BJP will be ousted).”

The Shiv Sena (UBT) chief said all assurances and “guarantees” of PM Modi are “jumlas” (empty slogans) and the BJP has renamed “jumlas” as “guarantees”.

Meanwhile, according to the report of news agency PTI, on Sunday Uddhav Thackeray said that BJP has never been a part of any movement or struggle nor has it created anything of its own, rather it only knows how to snatch from others.

He was addressing party workers in suburban Mumbai.

“BJP was not a part of the freedom movement, the Samyukta Maharashtra struggle or the Marathwada liberation war. It only knows how to snatch. We will destroy the BJP’s ‘chor bazaar’ in the elections. It has seen our friendship. Now the BJP will see our ‘torch’ The heat of (the election symbol burning torch),” he said, PTI reports.
