Controversy over Indian-American businessman over parking of Lamborghini yacht. Video
An Indian-origin businessman allegedly threatened to kill a dockworker for refusing to park his $4.5 million Lamborghini yacht in San Diego, California.
The 21-year-old dockworker refused him parking, due to which Thakore allegedly became aggressive and the fight escalated.
According to digital news portal Daily Mail, the incident occurred on Sunday when Thakor attempted to park his yacht at Seaforth Boat Rental to pick up someone.
Thakor and Ajay Thakor, aka Ace Rogers, chief executive officer of Gopher Media LLC, exposed their genitals and threatened to kill the 21-year-old dockworker.
Video footage shows that Thakor allegedly misbehaved with the dock worker and threatened him.
In the video he is heard saying, “I will kill you!” I will kill you! You know I’ll kill you!”
“Yeah, I doubt it! Ace Rogers, call me! Time and place!” The employee answers.
In the latter half of the video, Thakor pulls down his pants, reveals his genitals, and makes inappropriate gestures towards the dock worker.
Thakor, an Indian-American businessman from San Diego, was also seen throwing money into the water and encouraging dock workers to swim after him.
Thakor’s employee reacted to the viral incident on Ajay Thakor’s Instagram official page ‘srogersco’, claiming that the situation became tense when the staff stopped him from boarding the ferry.
“There was a lot of shouting and screaming back and forth,” he said, and described feeling threatened during the encounter.
Thakor defended his actions on his official Instagram page, saying that there are “two sides to every story”.
“It’s easy to paint a picture with an edited video clip…but it’s hard to explain the context and see a situation from all sides,” he said.
Thakore addressed stereotypes about wealthy individuals, saying, “Successful people are successful for a reason…If you want to poke around, you’ll find out.”
In 2021, Thakor clashed with a local pizza shop, Take N Bake Pizza Shop, over parking. They reportedly retaliated by flying a plane with an anti-pizza shop slogan that read, “Carino’s Pizza is better than Take n Bake”.
According to the Daily Mail report, the pizza company has filed a $10 million lawsuit against Thakor.
Thakor claims that in addition to not letting him park his car, the shop “discriminated” against him because of his Indian origin.
