Dubai introduces 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa for Indians
News agency PTI quoted Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) as saying that Dubai has launched a five-year multiple-entry visa to promote travel between India and the Gulf country.
Last year, 2.46 million Indians visited Dubai, 25 per cent more than the pre-Covid-19 pandemic era. According to the latest DET data on February 22, this figure has made India the number one source market with an extraordinary growth of 34 per cent year-on-year.
In the year-ago period, the city hosted 1.84 million tourists from India, while in 2019, it welcomed 1.97 million visitors.
Eligible Indian citizens can now enjoy the facility of multiple entries into Dubai for up to five years, with a maximum stay of 90 days each time. This visa can be extended once for the same period, ensuring that the total stay within a year does not exceed 180 days.
The visa-issuance process is remarkably efficient, with applications processed within two to five working days of receiving and accepting the service request.
To qualify for a visa, applicants must meet specific requirements, including a bank balance of $4,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency during the last six months and valid health insurance coverage in force in the UAE.
As per PTI report, the DET said that through this initiative, tourists can avail multiple entry and exits, thereby providing operational flexibility for business activities, leisure travel and seamless connectivity.
“Dubai introduced the five-year multiple-entry visa to promote travel between India and Dubai, foster continued economic cooperation and encourage tourism and trade relations,” the DET said.
Regional Head Bader Ali Habib said, “As a key market for Dubai, India will continue to play an integral role in enabling us to achieve the goals of the D33 agenda, positioning Dubai as a hub for trade, investment and tourism. “s position will become stronger.” said the Director of Proximity Markets at Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism.
“Our travel from India in 2023 was excellent, contributing to the record-breaking performance of our tourism sector,” he said.
Habib said the move will not only allow Indian tourists to visit Dubai but will also provide a platform to enhance economic cooperation.
“With exceptional flight connectivity and our continued commitment to the Indian market, we are confident that our upcoming initiatives will increase awareness of Dubai’s diverse offerings, multicultural setting and abundance of hotels and attractions, making it a top travel choice for Indians There will be tourists,” he said.
