Florida sisters arrest ‘most wanted pedophile dad’, celebrate on TikTok
“We did it, guys. My dad is in jail. After a year,” Ana Albarn said after her father, Dewey Albarn, was arrested after 451 days on the run.
Davey Albarn’s daughters Ana and Yaneri led an online campaign on TikTok to trace his whereabouts.
He was eventually arrested in Polk County, Florida, US, on charges of sexual abuse of a child under 12 years of age and indecent conduct towards a child under 12 years of age.
After an online campaign, the case came to light on ‘America’s Most Wanted’.
The daughters, Anna and Yaneri, launched a TikTok campaign calling for their father’s arrest and garnered hundreds of thousands of views, drawing attention across the United States.
The daughters said that additional victims had contacted them in addition to the two known victims for whom their father, Albarn, was accused.
Albarn had been on the run since 2022 when he was confronted by his daughters, who accused him of assaulting a young female member of the family.
Anna began publicly accusing her father of his crimes on Facebook and urging people with any information about his whereabouts to come forward.
Anna and Yaneri put up billboards in their search, looked at motels, solicited family members and secured a spot for Albarn on the show ‘America’s Most Wanted’.
This initiative of Anna and Yaneri also got support from the local media.
Anna revealed in an interview that her father had allegedly behaved inappropriately when she was younger and many other victims have given similar accounts.
After learning of Albarrán’s arrest, Ana and Yaneri celebrated with their family members offline and on TikTok.
“I started screaming. I was crying. I was in disbelief,” Anna told WFTV9.
Ana and Yaneri described the arrest as “the greatest feeling in the world” and said, “We are its karma”.
“He made a mistake. (America’s Most Wanted) chased him across the country and he came to Lakeland,” said Sheriff Grady Judd of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Albarrán tried to avoid arrest by using a false name but was caught by law enforcement, leading to his arrest. Details about the charges and the case are still pending, according to police.
In December 2022, Sheriff Marcos Lopez said, “It’s time to catch this trash. This monster. Arrest him and put him in prison for 100 years… taking away the innocence of children… he There is a sick man.”
