Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi Aidala fell ill in jail, claims her sister.

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi Aidala has fallen seriously ill after eating food in the jail where she is serving a sentence in the Toshakhana and ‘un-Islamic’ Nikah cases, according to allegations by her sister, Maryam. Riyaz Wattoo, as ARY News reported on Friday.

Wattoo expressed concern over the health of the former First Lady of Pakistan, claiming that his sister has been unwell for the last six days and is unable to eat anything. Wattoo alleged that unhealthy food was provided to Bushra Bibi in jail, stressing that home-cooked food was banned. He has urged the authorities to investigate the matter.

According to the report, Wattoo said, “We fear that some harmful food has been given to Bushra Bibi and it is the responsibility of the authorities to bring the culprits to justice.”

Wattoo said his sister is loyal to PTI founder Imran Khan and rejected the notion that she would turn against him. Wattoo said, “She is with Khan Sahab and will always be with Khan Sahab.”

Concerns about Bushra Bibi’s deteriorating health led PTI to call for immediate medical observation on Thursday. Currently his Banigala residence has been declared a sub-jail, he and Imran Khan were convicted and sentenced earlier this month in the Toshakhana case.

Bushra Bibi’s spokesperson Mashal Yousafzai took to social media platform X to share the former first lady’s distressing revelation. Yousafzai said Bushra Bibi claimed that she was given something like acid in her food, due to which she was suffering severe pain for the last five days. Yousafzai noted the urgent need for medical observation, warning of a “serious threat” to Bushra Bibi’s life.
