Hyderabad woman found dead in Australia, husband came to India with son

The body of a 36-year-old woman from Hyderabad was found inside a roadside dustbin in Victoria Buckle, Australia.

The woman has been identified as Chaitanya Madhagani. Her husband, Ashok Raj Varikuppala, left Australia and came to India with the couple’s son, prompting the investigation.

In a statement, Victoria Police said homicide squad detectives are investigating “after a man was found dead in Buckley, near Winchelsea this afternoon”.

“Officers found the deceased on Mount Polk Road at around noon,” the statement said.

Police said a second crime scene was established at a residential address on Mirka Way, Point Cook and is believed to be linked to the Buckley murder.

“Investigators are treating the death as suspicious. At this stage of the investigation, it is believed the parties involved are known to each other and the perpetrator may have fled abroad. There is no immediate threat to the community and no arrests have been made ” Victoria Police said in a statement.
