Israeli military admits killing of aid workers in Gaza was 'serious mistake'

At least 7 aid workers were killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza on Tuesday.

Jerusalem:

Israel’s military admitted on Wednesday it had made a “serious mistake” by killing seven aid workers from a US charity in an airstrike in Gaza.

“This incident was a serious mistake,” Israel Defense Forces chief Herzi Halevi said in a video message on X, “a mistaken identity – during a war in very complex circumstances at night”.

“This shouldn’t have happened,” he said.
