Jairam Ramesh launched a scathing attack on Narendra Modi
Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Friday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the ongoing farmers’ protest and alleged that the Center is doing injustice to them.
Speaking to media persons in Bihar’s Rohtas as part of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Ramesh said, “When the Modi government brought three black agricultural laws, farmers sat on strike for almost a year. After that, the government withdrew the laws. took.” And made many promises to the farmers. These promises have not been fulfilled till date.”
He was referring to the three laws that the Modi government passed in June 2020, which it said would bring reforms in the agriculture sector. However, farmers began protesting against the laws in November and ended their agitation in the same month the next year after Parliament repealed the three laws.
“Now, when farmers are coming to Delhi again, the central government is firing tear gas shells on them and laying nails on their way. The Modi government is committing huge atrocities on them and injustice to the farmer organizations of the country. Still working.” Congress General Secretary said.
Ramesh, who is going on the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra with Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in Bihar, alleged that the Narendra Modi government has been sitting on the Swaminathan Commission report since 2014.
