Kamal Nath said, India Block’s poll show will give a new direction to politics
Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has won a large number of seats in the Lok Sabha elections and the performance of the opposition alliance will give a new direction to national politics in the coming days.
Kamal Nath said the BJP had given the slogan of “crossing 400”, but the saffron party could win only 240 constituencies.
“Our alliance performed well. Modiji (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) used to say 400 plus, but (the BJP) won only 240 seats. In contrast, we (Bharat Block) have got a good number of seats (234) and this will give a new direction to politics in the coming days,” the senior Congress leader told reporters after meeting party workers at a hotel in his home district Chhindwara.
When asked about the possibility of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) forming the government at the Centre, he said that at present their (NDA) alliance is in power, but if the situation changes, such a possibility can be explored.
