Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is confident of Congress’s victory in the Rajya Sabha elections.
Responding to JD(S) leaders’ call on Congress MLAs to vote on conscience, the Chief Minister asked, “Where is the conscience?”
“He has named his party Janata Dal (Secular) and has joined hands with the BJP,” Siddaramaiah said sarcastically.
He said that Congress can also get votes from MLAs who have good opinion about the Karnataka government.
On allegations of horse-trading, Siddaramaiah said, ‘When we have enough votes, then what is the need to woo MLAs from the other party? We are confident of getting votes from independent MLAs. There is no need to tempt other MLAs.
Rather, he said, it is the Bharatiya Janata Party and JD(S) which is engaged in threatening and luring the MLAs. “Let them retain their MLAs. Siddaramaiah said, cross voting is possible only by BJP party leaders.
