Lok Sabha election results show that BJP can be defeated: Uddhav

Of the six seats in Mumbai, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) won four, while the BJP and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena won one seat each in the financial capital.

On 4 June 2024, Thackeray met his party’s Mumbai South seat winner Arvind Sawant and Mumbai South Central seat winner Anil Desai.

In the elections held for the 543-member Lok Sabha, the BJP got 240 seats, which is less than a majority on its own. The BJP is set to form the government with the support of its allies.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) won nine seats in the Lok Sabha elections. All the newly elected party leaders from outside Mumbai are expected to meet Thackeray on Wednesday.
