Maharashtra: Six arrested for printing fake notes in Pune
At least six people have been arrested for printing and circulating fake notes of Rs 500 denomination and 440 notes worth more than Rs 2 lakh have been seized in Pune district, news agency ANI reported.

The Dehu Road police station of Pimpri-Chinchwad police in Pune district on Monday arrested six accused for printing and circulating fake Rs 500 notes and seized notes worth Rs 2,20,000.
According to Assistant Police Commissioner Devidas Kashinath Ghevre, “Based on tip-off received from reliable sources, officers of Dehu Road police station laid a trap to nab an accused who was expected to come to Dehu Road area with fake currency notes. ” ANI reported.

Printing of fake notes in Pune: Investigation
He said, “As per information shared by sources, police officials stopped and detained a suspect who had come to a certain location on a motorcycle and upon search, police recovered 140 fake notes of Rs 500 from him. Found the notes.”
On further interrogation, accused Hrithik Khadse came to know that these notes were being printed using offset printing machine in a commercial shop in Bhosari area.
After receiving the information, a police team immediately reached the said shop and found an offset printing machine, printing ink and other printing materials as well as special papers used for printing fake notes and some half and whole printed notes. . ,
Six people arrested for printing fake notes in Pune
At present, six people have been arrested in the case and are currently kept in police custody.
As no international connection emerged, all the arrested accused were kept in Pune, Maharashtra, ANI reported.
According to ANI report, during investigation, one of the accused told the police that he had purchased an offset printing machine from Pune for printing pamphlets etc. but was influenced by various social media posts to print fake notes.
Following the arrest, the Dehu Road police registered a case against the accused in the state under sections 489 (C) (possession of forged or counterfeit currency notes or bank notes) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), ANI reported. Is.
