At least 48% of the Democrats want some other contender to replace Biden, out of the 48%, 20% want Michelle Obama to fight against Donald Trump.

Former first lady Michelle Obama is the leading choice to replace Joe Biden on the Democratic Party’s 2024 ticket. According to Rasmussen Report According to surveys, at least half of the Democrats want someone other than Biden to contest the elections in November.

At least 48% of voters said they would accept it if the Democrats found a replacement for Joe Biden before the November election. 38% of respondents said they would reject such a move.

However, only 33% of Democrats believe such a ballot change would happen. The pollster found little consensus among voters about who should replace Biden on the ballot if he does not seek reelection.

Michelle Obama led the group of Biden alternatives as she received 20% support in the list of alternatives, which also included Vice President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, California Governor Gavin Newsom, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, ” Neither of these are “up” and “not sure.”

However, most Democrats opted for “none of the above.” The option was chosen by 27% of the respondents. Kamala Harris got 15% votes. 12% supported seeing a rematch between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. California Governor Gavin Newsom, who was accused of running a “shadow campaign” for the presidency should Biden step down citing health reasons, received support from 11% of respondents. Whitmer, who is 52 and the youngest in the group, received support from 9% of respondents.

Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas argued last year that Michelle Obama could “parachute in” to this year’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago and then named the party’s nominee instead of Biden. Chicago is the hometown of Michelle Obama. However, she has repeatedly said that she wants to stay away from politics.

Biden is trailing his predecessor and former President Donald Trump in several polls in key battleground states and has yet to show any signs of stepping aside and allowing another Democrat to run in his place.
