Missing Indian student in California found safe after a week

Police on Tuesday confirmed that a 23-year-old Indian student who went missing in California last week has been found safe.

Nitisha Kandula, a student at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), He was missing in Los Angeles since May 28.Her disappearance sparked concern in the community and the police launched a search for her.

CSUSB Police Chief John Gutierrez announced the news on social media.

Gutierrez posted on X, “The missing student identified in this bulletin, who was reported missing in Los Angeles on May 28, 2024, has been located and is safe!”, but did not provide further details about her whereabouts.

The police had earlier also issued a public appeal for information on Nitisha’s location.

The police report further claimed that Kandula was driving a California licensed Toyota Corolla car.

Nitisha from Hyderabad is one of the many Indian students living in the US who have been reported missing recently.

A series of such incidents has worried the Indian community.

Last month, the 26-year-old Another Indian student, Rupesh Chandra Chintakind, went missing in Chicago.

In an even more tragic case, Mohammed Abdul Arfath, a 25-year-old student from Hyderabad, was murdered. Missing since March, found dead in Cleveland in April,
