Mukesh Ambani included in top 10, 9th in Forbes global rich list
Mukesh Ambani, head of oil-to-telecom conglomerate Reliance Industries Ltd. remains the richest Indian and has now featured in the top 10 richest persons in the world in the latest Forbes 2024 Billionaires List.
According to Forbes, 66-year-old Ambani is ranked 9th on the list with a net worth of US$116 billion, up from US$83.4 billion in the 2023 ranking.
Gautam Adani is the second richest Indian and is ranked 17th in the global list. He is worth US$84 billion, up from US$47.2 billion in 2023, when his Apple-to-airports group was rocked by a damning report from US short-seller Hindenburg Research. Adani, 61, was worth US$90 billion in the 2022 ranking.
The Forbes 2024 Billionaires list includes 2,781 individuals, an increase of 141 names from last year’s list.
