Pakistan Imran Khan names Omar Ayub as PTI’s candidate for Prime Minister Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Islamabad High Court

New Delhi: Former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has nominated the party’s central general secretary Omar Ayub Khan as its prime ministerial candidate, Dawn reported. Earlier this week, the party declared its intention to form an alliance with Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen at the federal and Punjab levels. Additionally, the party stated its intention to establish a coalition government with Jamaat-e-Islami in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, JI’s Liaquat Baloch later expressed reluctance to cooperate with PTI in the province, Dawn reported.

Responding to a question, he said that the PTI-supported candidates who won the elections will not resign under any circumstances. The PTI leader further said that the party would convene its parliamentary session in “a day or two”.

Additionally, former senator Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif revealed Imran Khan’s selection of Qaiser’s brother Aqibullah Khan as the Speaker of the KP Assembly.
