Pune Porsche case: Report says mother’s blood sample was used as replacement
The forensic laboratory report confirmed that the blood samples of the 17-year-old driver involved in the Porsche accident that killed two people in Pune were replaced with the mother’s blood samples, police told a court on June 5. The sessions court extended the police custody of the teenager’s parents till June 10 on the request of the police.
Two doctors and a staff member of Pune’s Sassoon General Hospital were arrested last month for allegedly altering the blood samples of a minor after the accident on May 19 to make it look like he was not under the influence of alcohol at the time. It is alleged that one of the doctors was in touch with the teen’s father.
The teenager’s mother was arrested on June 1 on charges of conspiracy. On Wednesday, the police produced the minor’s parents, two doctors and the hospital staff before the court after their police custody period ended. The court then extended the custody period of the doctors and the hospital staff till June 7.
The police have also filed an application before the Juvenile Justice Board, seeking a 14-day extension in the remand period of the 17-year-old juvenile, who is lodged in an observation home. His remand ends on Wednesday.
