The budget session of Delhi Assembly has been extended till the first week of March.
Finance Minister Atishi had on Thursday, February 15, extended the Delhi Assembly budget session till the first week of March, citing the delay in finalizing it and sending it to the Home Ministry for approval.
The resolution was passed by the Assembly, with opposition BJP MLAs questioning the reasons for the delay.
“There has been some delay in finalizing the budget due to some reasons. We got approval for the budget from the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi yesterday. It has been sent to the Home Ministry for approval today. It is pending for approval from the Home Ministry and the President’s assent. It will take less than 10 minutes.” -15 days. It is not possible for us to present the budget before February 25. I request that the budget session be extended till the first week of March,” she said in the House.
BJP MLAs raised questions on the delay, to which Atishi said, “This is a delay from our side. We are not blaming anyone.”
The budget session of the Assembly began on February 15 and was to end on February 21.
