Trump joins TikTok app, which he tried to ban
Donald Trump has joined the popular video-sharing app TikTok, a platform he once tried to ban while in the White House, and posted from a UFC fight, two days before he became the first former president and potential major party nominee in US history to be convicted of felony charges.
“It’s an honor,” Trump said in a TikTok video that shows footage of him waving to fans and posing for selfies at an Ultimate Fighting Championship fight in Newark, New Jersey, on Saturday night. At the end of the video, Trump tells the camera: “That was a nice walk-on, wasn’t it?”
As of Sunday morning, Trump had more than 1.1 million followers on the platform, and the post had received more than 1 million likes and more than 24 million views.
