Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said unemployment, inflation and “partnership” are important issues the country is facing, and accused the Center of diverting people’s attention from real problems, news agency PTI reported.
While interacting with people in Dondaicha village of Dhule district of Maharashtra during his Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra, Rahul Gandhi said that conducting caste census will be a historic and revolutionary step.

Gandhi and the Congress have been repeatedly assuring that if their party forms the government at the Centre, it will conduct the caste census.
“Economic and Financial Survey will be the next step and I will do it. Dalits, general category poor people, minorities and tribals will know where they stand. Unemployment, inflation and ‘bhagidari’ (share) are important issues for the country. .. is facing,” he said, PTI reports.
Gandhi claimed that there is no representation of the poor, the general class, Dalits, tribals or minorities in the media, Election Commission, bureaucracy, private hospitals, educational institutions.
He also said that Modi government has waived off Rs 16 lakh crore of the rich.

“So why can’t the government waive off the dues of farmers?” he asked, PTI reports.
The former Congress president claimed that 22 people in the country have as much wealth as 70 crore people.
“Fifty per cent of the population owns three per cent of the country’s wealth, while 22 people own more than 50 per cent of the wealth. Since you don’t ask questions, your attention can be easily diverted,” he said, according to a PTI report. “

Referring to the Centre’s Agneepath scheme for short-term induction of soldiers into the armed forces, he said the Agniveers will not get martyr status or pension.
“The Center wants to invest the pension amount and the money spent on training of soldiers in the defense business of private companies,” he alleged.
Gandhi’s yatra entered Maharashtra on Tuesday in its final leg. It will conclude on March 17 in Mumbai.
