US airman dies in self-immolation outside Israel embassy during Gaza war, Hezbollah “attacks IDF base”
A US Air Force member who self-immolated in front of the Israel Embassy in Washington DC in protest against the Gaza war has died. The 25-year-old airman, identified as Aaron Bushnell of San Antonio, Texas, died of his injuries, the Metropolitan Police Department said. Bushnell said that he would “no longer engage in genocide” and that his suffering was minimal compared to that of Palestinians. Hezbollah said it fired rockets at an Israeli military base in response to the first Israeli attack in the east of Lebanon. The IDF* rejected reports that approximately 1,000 Israeli SIM cards were simultaneously activated in Gaza hours before the October 7 attack. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu told Fox News that Israel has a plan to evacuate civilians from Rafah ahead of an expected IDF operation there.
