Zootopia 2 Release Date Rumors – Check Out Its Release Date
Disney CEO Bob Iger announced Zootopia 2 in an official statement. Walt Disney Animation will immerse audiences once again in this animated universe. The release date has not been announced yet.
Critics praised the 2016 film Zootopia, which starred Ginnifer Goodwin and followed her journey to become a rabbit police officer. The excellent voice cast includes the likes of Jason Bateman, Idris Ebba and Jenny Slate.
The first film has been gaining popularity since its release due to its thoughtful treatment of topics such as racial diversity and cultural diversity.
Disney has revealed that a theatrical sequel will be released in the fall of 2022, along with Toy Story 5 and Frozen 3, as well as the Disney+ spin-off Zootopia+.

When is Zootopia 2 coming out?
Zootopia 2 may be released in November 2020 or November 2026.
Zootopia 2 will not be released in theaters until 2023, although its release was initially announced at Disney Infinity in February of that year, along with Toy Story 5 and Frozen 3. There is no update yet regarding its release date. It is expected to be released within one of three unannounced periods for Disney animated films:

Encanto star Stephanie Beatriz said in 2023 that her film crew was working on Zootopia 2, also talking about the possibility of a follow-up. Although it is not clear how far the film has progressed, its release is still possible on November 27, 2024.
The ongoing SAGAFTRA strike may make this window less productive. Zootopia 2 will likely hit theaters on March 7, 2025, coinciding with its predecessor. But due to the early development work of this sequel film, it may premiere on November 26, 2025 or even earlier!
The 2022 film Zootopia+ gave us a glimpse of the world in the franchise universe and brought back many beloved characters. Most of these characters are expected to return in Zootopia 2 along with Judy Hopps, Ginnifer Goodwin and Nick Wilde, Jason Bateman. They’ll likely solve another mystery.

What is the theme of Zootopia 2?
Zootopia 2 will likely maintain the successes and failures of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as partners on the police force.
The plot may revolve around the two of them being given a new case to solve, depending on how the story unfolds. The story may include the return of Mayor Lionheart, Bellwether, or a new villain connected to the case.
Disney, known for making the most of its properties and movies, could also continue the story of Zootopia+.
There is no evidence that supports any romantic suspicions about Nick and Judy.
Zootopia 2 Trailer Speculations
The first Zootopia 2 trailer is expected to be released in 2025.
The 2025 teaser is a reasonable guess, as production hasn’t started yet. We’ll know with more certainty when we can expect trailers once the release date is announced.

Where can I find Zootopia 2 on TV?
Zootopia 2 is expected to be released in theaters but there is still a small chance that it may come to Disney Plus first.
Depending on the popularity and success of the original film, Disney will likely want to release its sequel film in theaters for at least 45 days before making it available for streaming. But who knows! Things can always change!
Recent releases, such as the live-action The Little Mermaid or the Elemental films, demonstrate this trend; It initially only played in theaters for a short run before getting an online streaming release a few months later (see How to Watch The Little Mermaid for more info).

Zootopia+ Is it Zootopia 2, or both?
Zootopia 2 isn’t a thing. The streaming anthology Zootopia+ will debut on the platform in November 2022.
Zootopia+ follows six different stories set during the events of the first film. The film’s animation directors Trent Corey and Josie Trinidad will direct future series.
The streaming series has kept some aspects of the original film but it is not Zootopia 2. Instead, the second film is a full sequel and will not feature any additional narrative within the parameters of its predecessor.

Zootopia 2 has not been titled yet.
Disney has a history of assigning numbers to animated sequels. (Like Frozen 2, Toy Story 4). So it’s reasonable to expect that the Zootopia 2 sequel will also be named Zootopia 2. A subtitle can also be added.
IMDb originally listed the film as Zootopia 2 – Rise of the Mammalians. A fan art piece revealed that the title was incorrect.
Do Judy and Nick have kids in Zootopia 2?
Many will wonder if Judy (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick (Jason Bateman) have developed a relationship since their first film. This can also lead to delivery.
EW’s film “The Great Gatsby” co-director Rich Moore previously said in an interview that when producing more films he would have to explore how the two characters are related.
The director declined to comment on the possibility that the two were in a romantic relationship.
