After heavy rains, water level in rivers and drains has increased in Kashmir.

“On April 28 and 29, sky will be generally cloudy with light to moderate rain/snowfall at most places (light snowfall at higher reaches), thunderstorm/lightning/lightning at a few places,” the weather department’s advisory said. There will be hailstorm/strong winds and there is a possibility of heavy rain. There is a possibility of rain at different places in Jammu and Kashmir. On April 30, there is a possibility of generally cloudy sky and light rain with thunder at many places.

“Farmers are advised to postpone agricultural operations till April 30. The weather department said, temporary disruption in traffic is possible in the higher reaches of Zojila, Sinthan Pass, Mughal Road, Razdan Pass etc.

“Waterlogging in low-lying areas. Possibility of landslides and stone falling. A temporary rise in water level is expected in the Jehlum and tributaries and other local rivers and streams,” the advisory said.
