Shahi Eidgah case: High Court to hear plea challenging maintainability of case on February 23

The Allahabad High Court will hear a plea challenging the maintainability of a suit seeking removal of the Shahi Idgah Mosque in Mathura, which it claims was built on 13.37 acres of land belonging to the Katra Keshav Dev Temple.

After hearing lawyers from both sides, Justice Mayank Kumar Jain fixed February 23 as the next date of hearing in the case.

On January 30, the High Court scheduled a hearing for February 22 on the petition challenging the maintainability of the trial, and said that objections to the petition should be filed before that date.

On January 17, the court had given time to the Hindu side to respond to the Muslim side’s plea regarding the maintainability of the case.

HC to pass order on Friday on Mahua Moitra’s plea alleging media leak

The Delhi High Court on Thursday announced that it will pronounce its verdict on TMC leader Mahua Moitra’s plea against the alleged leak of “confidential” information to the media by the Enforcement Directorate in an investigation under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).

The former MP’s senior lawyer claimed that he was being “harassed” and that information about the agency issuing him summons was published in the media even before he got it.

Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar on a one-day visit to Sambhajinagar today

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will be on a one-day visit to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district on Friday, attending NCP programs and chairing an official review meeting.

News agency PTI quoted an official as saying that after Madhya Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati reaches Sambhajinagar, Pawar, in-charge of finance and planning, will visit the district collector’s office and chair a review meeting.

He will speak at a press conference later. As per his itinerary, Pawar will then visit Gangapur to unveil the statue of Ahilyabai Holkar, the famous queen of the Malwa kingdom of medieval India, and address a rally.

According to PTI, the Deputy Chief Minister will then attend his party’s state-level ‘Samvidhan Gaurav’ rally in Padegaon. Before leaving for Pune in the evening, Pawar will meet local NCP workers and officials.
