Saudi Arabia to host WEF special meeting on global cooperation

Saudi Arabia is set to host the World Economic Forum (WEF) special meeting on global cooperation, development and energy for development on April 28 and 29, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reports. The two-day event aims to gather more than 1,000 global leaders, including representatives of international organizations, academic institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), as well as heads of state, government officials and thought leaders from various sectors. The goal is to address serious global development challenges through productive dialogues and collaborative efforts.

According to the SPA report, the meeting will focus on three central themes: global cooperation, development and energy for development. With an agenda designed to foster collaboration, the event will include panel discussions, workshops and networking opportunities. It aims to bring together leaders and experts committed to building a more resilient, sustainable and equitable world.

Rahul, Nadda to address Lok Sabha election rallies in Odisha

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and BJP president JP Nadda are scheduled to address election rallies in different parts of Odisha on April 28. Rahul Gandhi is expected to address a public meeting in Salepur in Cuttack district and pay tribute to Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan Das in Satyabhamapur. AICC general secretary Ajoy Kumar highlighted that attendees from four Lok Sabha constituencies – Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jajpur and Jagatsinghpur – would be attending Rahul Gandhi’s rally.

On the same day, BJP president JP Nadda will address a public meeting in Berhampur and meet party workers in Nabarangpur. Berhampur Lok Sabha seat is expected to face a tough electoral contest between the BJP and BJD candidates, both of whom are former members of the rival party. Meanwhile, a tough fight is expected between BJD and BJP candidates in Nabarangapur, with Congress also fielding a contender.

These developments indicate the convergence of global and regional interests in terms of both economic cooperation and political dynamics, underscoring the importance of international forums such as the World Economic Forum in promoting dialogue and cooperation at the global level.
