EU farmers unite to protest agricultural policies

Czech farmers were driving their tractors and other vehicles to multiple border crossings on Thursday to meet colleagues from neighboring countries and join their protests against EU agricultural policies, bureaucracy and the overall conditions of their businesses.

Farmers complain that the 27-nation EU’s environmental policies, such as the Green Deal, which calls for limits on the use of chemicals and greenhouse gas emissions, limit their business and make products cheaper than non-EU imports. Makes it more expensive. Farmers also complain about low prices for their products and say grain and other agricultural products coming from Ukraine and Latin America have a negative impact on the market.

The farmers met their colleagues from Germany, Poland and Slovakia at several border crossings. Farmers from 10 countries of the European Union participated in the protest. He invited the Czech agriculture minister, his Slovak counterpart and farmer representatives from Poland and Hungary to rally at the Czech-Slovak border near Hodonín-Holík, which was blocked by hundreds of tractors.
