Is PM Modi worried about the property of his close ones?

Former Union Minister P. Chidambaram said the following: Will BJP tell the world:

a) When and where did Congress say that we will distribute people’s land, gold and other valuables among Muslims?

b) When and where did Congress say that a survey would be conducted for the value of assets of individuals, gold held by women and silver held by tribal families?

c) When and where did Congress say that land and cash of government employees will also be distributed?

Among the many explanations proposed, there are two that seem more plausible. One, that the Prime Minister, disappointed by the first phase of voting and subsequent reports of low turnout, is making every effort to polarize voters and motivate them to vote in large numbers.

The second explanation is that the Prime Minister is actually scared of possible investigations against ‘wealth creators’ close to him. Although the Congress manifesto does not mention redistribution of wealth, it expresses concern over growing inequality and injustice towards the poor and the underprivileged. He seems more concerned about a progressive taxation policy in which rich Indians have to pay more.

Modi, who has particularly stalled the investigation against the Adani Group, is fearful of the possibility that the next government will take back from his cronies the wealth that they have distributed by violating rules, by twisting and turning.

After 10 years in office, it should become clear that PM Modi’s heart beats for the ‘wealth creators’ and their friends, and not for poor and deprived Indians.
