Maharashtra: Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar gets Y-Plus security cover

Parth Pawar-led NCP’s candidate from Baramati Lok Sabha seat is Sunetra Pawar, Ajit Pawar’s wife.

Speaking to PTI, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said the decision to provide Y-Plus security cover was taken by the state government.

A local Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) official said that due to security concerns, security cover has been provided to Parth Pawar.

According to PTI, he said, “Parth Pawar is reaching out to people as part of the election campaign for his mother. He is an aggressive leader and there were concerns about his safety as he roams in remote areas.”

Y-Plus security cover, the fourth highest level of security, usually comprises an 11-member team along with one or two commandos.

Reacting to the development, Parth Pawar’s cousin Rohit Pawar, who is from the Sharad Pawar-led NCP, alleged that Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis was giving priority to providing security cover to children of political leaders, MLAs and actors. Rohit Pawar also sarcastically said that two tanks should be deployed to provide security to Parth Pawar.
