NCP MLA Nilesh Lanke leaves assembly to contest Lok Sabha under Sharad Pawar’s leadership

NCP MLA Nilesh Lanke on Friday said he is quitting the Maharashtra Assembly to contest from Ahmednagar Lok Sabha seat on the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) ticket.

Lanke, the MLA from Parner there, was earlier in the Nationalist Congress Party led by Ajit Pawar, but recently he had met opposition veteran Sharad Pawar.

Lanke is likely to get a ticket from the Sharad Pawar faction to contest against sitting Ahmednagar BJP MP Sujay Vikhe Patil.

He said, “Today, I am announcing my decision to step down as MLA. I apologize to all of you. I am resigning because I don’t want anyone to question us tomorrow. I don’t want anyone to take us to court.” Dragged in.” A crowd of party workers gathered showing their resignation letters addressed to the Assembly Speaker.

“I have decided to contest the Lok Sabha elections under the leadership of Sharad Pawar. My resignation email will be sent (to the Speaker),” he said.
