US campus protests: Overnight demonstrations on the campus of New York University led to the arrest of more than 130 individuals as pro-Palestine protests escalated at various universities in the United States amid the Israel-Hamas conflict. The New York Police Department confirmed the arrest of 133 individuals, all of whom were later released after being issued court summons, news agency AFP reported.

Protests have also intensified at Yale, Columbia University and other campuses.

As the Passover holidays began Monday night, police began rounding up protesters at a camp at NYU. According to a New York University spokesperson, the decision to involve law enforcement was made after additional protesters, many of whom were not affiliated with NYU, breached the barriers around the encampment, AFP reported.
