Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on first visit to India, talks on peace deal with Russia on agenda

New Delhi: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, who is on a two-day visit to India, arrived in New Delhi on Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar invited his Ukrainian counterpart to India, a fact also acknowledged in the ministry’s statement and by Minister Kuleba himself through a post on social media upon his arrival in the national capital. to be confirmed.

In his social media update, Kuleba emphasized his role as a facilitator of communication between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky towards a peaceful resolution with Russia.

Addressing the ex, Kuleba wrote, “I started my trip to New Delhi on the invitation of @DrSJaishankar. Ukrainian-India cooperation is important and we will strengthen ties again. We will pay special attention to the peace formula based on the talks between @ZelenskyUA and @NarendraModi.

During his stay, Kuleba is to participate in various programs outlined by the ministry, including discussions with Jaishankar and the Deputy National Security Advisor on bilateral cooperation and shared interests in regional and global affairs. Additionally, he is also expected to engage with representatives from the trade sector, according to reports.

Earlier this month, President Zelensky and Prime Minister Modi had a telephone conversation, during which Zelensky urged India to play a peacekeeping role in Russia’s ongoing conflict with Ukraine, to which PM Modi also responded .
