PM Modi remembered the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on Good Friday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday took to Twitter (formerly Twitter) to remember the tremendous sacrifice of Jesus Christ on Good Friday, and stressed the importance of compassion and forgiveness that the occasion represents. In a post on Twitter, PM Modi wrote, “Today, on Good Friday, we remember the profound sacrifice of Jesus Christ. May everyone find strength in the lessons of compassion and forgiveness it teaches us.”

Additionally, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge also greeted people on the occasion, ANI reported.

“On the auspicious occasion of Good Friday, let us remember the supreme sacrifice and love that leads us to compassion, love, forgiveness and unity. May this Good Friday be a time of reflection, renewal and grace for all,” Rijiju said in his Wrote in a social media post.

Kharge said, “Wishing you all a #HappyFriday. May the spirit of compassion, forgiveness, sacrifice and empathy guide our path. Let us imbibe the spirit of humanity, kindness and peace among us.”

Mamata Banerjee wrote in her post on Instagram, “Happy Good Friday to all my Christian brothers and sisters. May this holy day of penance, prayer and sacrifice inspire us all to live a life of compassion, love and peace.”

According to ANI report, devotees in Kerala take part in a procession carrying wooden crosses to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Good Friday services are held in churches in celebration of the upcoming Easter Sunday. Similarly, prayers and services are held in churches across the country, including the Sacred Heart Cathedral Church in New Delhi.

Father Jolly of the CBCI Centre, while explaining the meaning of Good Friday, emphasized its importance for Christians around the world. The report said he emphasized that Good Friday is a day set aside to remember the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, to sanctify and purify oneself.

In Thiruvananthapuram and Kolkata, processions are held at the Stations of the Cross to remember the sufferings of Jesus Christ during his crucifixion. Good Friday marks the day Jesus was betrayed by Judas and crucified by the Romans, followed by his resurrection on Easter Sunday.
