Amazon employee finds lost cat in returned package, reunites kitten with owner. Heartwarming story of pet rescue comes to light

Carrie Clark, a mother of two from the US state of Utah, was in shock when her beloved cat, Galena, went missing. Despite a week-long search effort in her neighborhood in Salt Lake City, no sign of Galena was found.

Feeling defeated, Clark was shocked when she received a call from a veterinarian in California telling her that they had found her lost pet six days after he went missing. Without food or water, Galena reportedly traveled in an Amazon return package to a city hundreds of miles away. The feline stowaway was found by Amazon warehouse employee, Brandi Hunter, who immediately took him to the vet, where the cat was identified using microchip technology.

‘Galina’s story of survival’

He was sent to California

For Clark, the news was both surprising and a relief. With the help of Hunter’s kindness and quick thinking, Galena’s unexpected trip has a happy ending. Clark and her husband immediately flew to California to get their beloved pet back. He shared that Galena’s survival was due in part to a torn seam in the package and the veterinarian’s normal blood test results, which indicated she had survived the ordeal.

“Story of survival Our cat Galena was missing since April 10th. We found out on April 17th that she jumped/hid in one of our Amazon packages without us even knowing. Brace yourself… He was shipped to California and trapped in a box and trailer for six days, Brandy, an Amazon employee, rescued him and took him to the vet where they scanned him for a microchip . I was immediately notified via text when they scanned her microchip. “Then the CA vet called me and told us what happened,” Carrie Clark said in a post on Facebook.

‘I got on the plane’

“At first I thought it was a prank! He confirmed all our information and told the whole story. My husband and I hopped on a plane and headed straight to CA to pick him up! Then we drove back to Utah together in the rental car. We arrived home yesterday after traveling 1600 miles in 24 hours to get our cat back, the cat’s owner said. Despite the unusual circumstances that led to Galena’s adventure, Clark expressed great gratitude for the happy outcome. Speaking to a local TV station, the cat’s owner said, “Galena loves boxes, it’s part of her personality.”
